Games with Non-wood Bats Produce More Hits

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 28, 2007) — In a comparative study of Illinois high school baseball teams using wood bats and non-wood bats during the same season, games with non-wood bats lasted longer and produced more hits than those with wood bats, but researchers at Illinois State University found that there was no statistically significant difference in injuries.

Cooperstown Dreams Park Tourney

Brent Meyer is looking for someone again this year to be sponsored by his group to work in the Cooperstown Dreams Park tourney. It is August 21-28, and includes transportation, bunk house quarters, 3-4 games a day and food I'd assume. It's not a paid gig, but others of us have gone and said it's a great experience. Sitting across the desk from Shawn Vellek in his General Sports office one can get a great feel for his enthusiasm for the game of baseball.  There are pictures of all kinds of Minnesota baseball teams-Augsburg college, St. Louis Park, the Gophers and many others.  There is also a picture of the Olson twins, Mary Kate and Ashley, but that's another story.
